Seeking guidance on how to react to Osama bin Laden's pre-election message, the Kerry campaign took a poll to determine how their candidate should respond - a move that drew howls of derision on Sunday from Vice President Dick Cheney.
"The thing I find most amazing about it is John Kerry's first response was to go conduct a poll," Cheney told GOP volunteers in Iowa. "It's as though he didn't know what he believed until he took a poll."
Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg reportedly added the bin Laden question to a poll already underway on Saturday, asking about voter reactions to the bin Laden tape. Reaction 1) "It makes me think that George Bush took his eye off the ball in Afghanistan and diverted resources to Iraq." (46 percent agreed)
Reaction 2) "It underscores the importance of George Bush's approach to the war on terrorism." (36 percent agreed)
Reacting to Cheney comments, Kerry spokesman Joe Lockhart told the Associated Press that he "should examine his own house before throwing stones."
Asked whether Kerry's polls included questions about the videotape, Lockhart said, "We don't talk about our internal polls."
Bush-Cheney strategist Matthew Dowd told the AP that their campaign didn't poll on the bin Laden tape. "We have not asked any questions related to bin Laden, this tape, or any other tape in our polling."
Vice President Cheney said the Greenberg poll showed Kerry really didn't know what he thought about the 9/11 mastermind, telling the Iowa crowd, "George Bush doesn't need a poll to know what he believes, especially about Osama bin Laden.
"Ever since I heard about the poll, I've been agitated about it," he added.
God help this country if kerry gets in.
"The thing I find most amazing about it is John Kerry's first response was to go conduct a poll,"
This is how Clinton did things his entire presidency, these people have no good ideas.
Tommorow the US can conduct the "final" 'Effin poll.
What a jerk.
I also heard that Kerry took a poll on weither or not he should get his drunk wife more beer & pills. But she just slapped him on the butt and said "Get my beer Poodle boy and be quick about it".
Osama is quoting Michael Moore.
Michael Moore's Propaganda was used by our enemy as rhetoric.
It's gotten to the point where action has to be taken. I'm sick and tired of idiots like Michael Moore abusing the freedom of speech and undermining our national security and undermining our war efforts.
Hang him for treason (make sure the branch is very strong)
Yeah, breaking into tears on national TV won't help Kerry's campaign at this point....
What good does a push poll do to help set campaign strategy?
(Not to mention his first reaction should have been to shoot the ugly SOB.)
Already posted a bunch of times.
This is exactly what he would have done if he had been president on 9/11 and exactly what he'd do if we're attacked again. How could anybody in their right mind even consider voting for this POS?
Where? I just did a search again and my thread is the only one posted

You know, that could very well be. Many times thes tapes have been thought to be authentic and then it turned out that they were not
Oh dear. Clintion redux.
AS THOUGH? Dick Cheney, in contrast to how he is portrayed, is FAR too charitable.
Well Kerry obviousely took lessons from Billy Jeff. Remember when he has Dick Morris to do a poll for him to find out how the people would feel before he dicided to take action or not. A true leader does not depend onpolls, but does what he thinks is good for the country
"A true leader does not depend onpolls, but does what he thinks is good for the country"
I agree with this statement. Bush does not need a poll to know we are at war and that our objective is to kill the enemy. Osama declared war on us in 1992 during the first World Trade Center attacks. No one wanted to pay attention then and left it unchecked for Al Queda to fester and grow into a real enemy.
Yeah and President Bush is the one who got blamed for it by the left
