My first major in college was journalism...because I wanted to be just like Dan Rather when I grew up. There--I feel better now that I have that off of my chest. Thanks.

I didn't major in journalism, but did plan on going into "broadcast journalism."
I practically grew up on Dan Rather..........and in my High School yearbook one quote from me is ......... "Look out Barbara Walters"
What can I tell you, I was 17 at the time, growing up in NYC...........but I already knew I was a Republican. Being in a mock presidential debate in 1976 and portraying Gerald Ford showed me how insidious the dims were. But I still hadn't learned to see it in the media.
A couple of years in radio news disabused me of that mindset.
