Email from friends--

The attached letter was written by our son Casey who graduated in August as a US Army Medical Sergeant Special Forces Green Beret. He wasn't sure why he started writing, but sent the note and said we could share with our family and friends. However, you choose to vote…just go VOTE. It would honor me to share with your friends.

With love for our Country and my son read on...

To Whom It May Concern:

I hope this will help you if you are undecided or possibly change your mind about how you view the politics and the importance of the government in our country. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a soldier in the United States Army.

The mere thought of Courage, Honor and Freedom have always amazed me. The thought that I could grow up and be anything that I wanted to be seemed unreal. The possibilities, the knowledge that we can obtain, and the feeling of knowing that if I needed help I could go next door and ask, are afforded to us by the values and principles of what this nation was founded on. I am reaching my goals and living my dreams. Currently I am in the United States Army where I proudly serve “You”, the people of this great nation.

I would not think twice about dying for what I believe in, which is “You” the people of this great nation. Seeing people free, making their own decisions, eating out, going to the movies, shopping for their children with the hopes that one day he or she will have that much better of a life than the one that they have, gives me motivation. Seeing people with choices, decisions as little as what they are going to wear are as big as who they are going to marry, seeing people skinny, fat, black, white, and most of all happy, is what I base my life on. Knowing that I am doing everything in my power to make sure that “You” the people of this great nation are not stripped of these freedoms, gives me satisfaction. I am a protector of this country just as are many others who feel the same way I do, who have the compassion to put their lives on the line day in and day out.

Knowing that our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and friends can sit at home and watch television without the fear that they will be pulled from their couch and shot dead in the street for what they believe, is what gives us comfort. We are coming up on one of the most important times in our country’s history, and it is sad to say that our country is being divided between those who still share this mind set of values and morals of which we were brought up and a new class of people who can’t see or just don’t want to see how lucky they really are.

This dream or vision that people talk about everyday, kind of disappoints me because they don’t realize that this is the dream. We are living it every day. Sure there are numerous areas that we can improve on, and we are. We are still a young country and look how much farther ahead of the rest of the world we are. People turn to us when the need help. They look to us for approval. They want the opportunities that we have. I personally did not realize this until I went over seas and saw how the rest of the world lived. I am one of the few that has had the chance to see first hand what we take for granted every day. This is why I do what I do, because we live in the greatest nation.

It tears me apart to see political figures, whether they are in music, movies, or politics, get up in front of crowds and bash the very things that I fight for. The thought that someone would put the rest of the world first before my home and my family and friends; sickens me. The knowing that someone would stand up and burn the flag for which I am willing to fight and die; disgusts me. The fear that my country doesn’t support me; scares me. But, the most terrifying thing of all is that I will lose sight of what I am fighting for. As one of the many that proudly protect this country we cannot afford that. From the point of view from someone who has not forgotten what the flag stands for, we as a country must come together.

We cannot afford someone to lead this country, who does not believe in us. We cannot afford someone to lead this country, who puts the rest of the world before us. We cannot afford someone to lead this country, who would lie to our faces. We cannot afford someone to lead this country, who would turn his back on us. And most of all we cannot afford someone to lead this country, who would make the protectors of this country forget what we are fighting to protect.

I am writing this hoping that you will open your eyes, your ears, and your hearts and realize that we have got to come together and remember the principles and values for which this country was founded, the principles and values of which the Democrat presidential candidate has seemed to forgotten. The principals and values of which our current President stands for and defends with all of his power and all of my power and all of your power, if you afford him the opportunity.

Thank you for your time and your support, and remember that you will always have somebody fighting and dying for what you believe in, just don’t for get what you believe in.

Sgt. in the U.S. Army

Good evening everybody.

I just got home from putting up signs all around Grand Island.
I put up Bush/Cheney, Laba for Congress, Penna for Assembly,
Mills for Senate and Cappolla for state senate.
It's now after 11pm and I'm off to bed.

Thankyou for all your posts today. Tomorrow will be another long day.
I will be getting election results from here and bringing them to the county.
It's been a tough campaign, we will all have the chance to pat each other
on the back for a job 'Well Done' when we know that George W. Bush is re-elected.

I leave it all up to the Lord! Only he is in control.
It is His Will that will be done..
If kerry ends up our president, I will be looking for His Second Coming to happen sooner than later..
kerry will ruin our Great Country,

Good Night, God Bless and may God continue to Bless America!

Thank You Mr. President!

see he was looking right at me.. : )
