He sure went a long way to look for any bad news in a Daschle loss. I say we risk it.
'Daschle is saddened even more in '04.'

Yes, appealing to more people always hurts a party. Someone ought to tell the people in Cambridge to get out into the country and breathe clean air that the students haven't contaminated with "crack" and "pot" fumes. Breathing those fumes results in "crack""pot" columns such as Stuntz wrote.

Regret it? I'll take that chance.
The author gives his game away in his final paragraph where he pushes RINO's like Giuliani, McCain, and Schwartznegger.

No one ever comments about the INSANITY of a 60% republican state EVER electing someone like daschle.( ONE of the great mysteries of our time: all the demorat senators from republican states and the fake republicans from demorat states) If we had senators from all the red states we wouldn't care who the president was!!!In 1980, there were thirteen GOP Senators from states Al Gore won by 54% or more-now, there are two.
In 1980, there were eleven eleven RAT Senators from states that Bush won by 54% or more, and there still are eleven.
The Democrats have successfully cleansed GOP Senators from their base. The Republicans have not, so much so that the Republicans are not even seriously running against Byron Dorgan, in a state where Bush got 60% of the vote in 2000 and will get 60% again.
Can you imagine the Democrats not even contesting a Senate seat in a state where Gore or Kerry gets 60% of the vote? It's inconceivable.
There is a serious problem with the GOP at the state level in candidate development.

So again, we're supposed to let one of the System Lords survive?
How many times are they gonna rehash that plot element?
Treat 'em like Borg drones, I say...

... a Democratic party shorn of Daschles and Gephardts, a party in thrall to its Kerrys and Pelosis, is not a party well-equipped to govern a diverse country.AMEN!!

It continues to amaze me that guys like Stuntz seem to have their "ducks in a row" and then omit the most significant pieces of the puzzel.
They would be the world situation, and the economic realities of the next two (Senate and governor seats) and four (next presidential election) years.

I keep on looking for the bad news for 'Pubbies here, and can't find it.
Bottom line, President Bush will be re-elected tomorrow with a marginal pick-up in the House and three (count 'em! 3) seat pick-up in the Senate. This will be a tectonic shift in the political climate in Washington, DC, and the Donks will be cruising toward irrelevancy.

Reid is the name most often talked about. Mostly by he, himself! And we have the Libertarians in Nevada to thank for that...

No, in this case there seems to be the same rule for both. Regardless of who wins on Tuesday, the victor will get up on TV and talk at length at how they plan to reach out to members of the other party in the spirit of bipartaisanship because, after all, we are one people and he wants to be president of all the people, blah, blah, blah. And regardless of who wins, statements like that will be the biggest BS of the entire campaign.

Quite amusing so many think Gephardt could have done a better job than Kerry for the Dems. Outside his own St.L District, he was as popular as dog-shit on a hot day. in Missouri. He (like Daschle) maintained a sham-residence in Missouri. His aged mom's apartment. His REAL home was in the Carolinas.
Granted, he had the union vote, Black vote, leftist vote, etc. The usual Dem. suspects. But so does Kerry. This professor is all wet. But hey, maybe Dims can run Gabby next go-round! I'd LOVE IT!!

The one thing this whole argument forgets about is that we are in the middle of a war on terror that is going to last for possibly as long as the cold war.......in the end people will vote for candidates that will lead them through that issue not leave them cowering in the dark corners for safety.
Maybe the people will try a RINO on for size...I hope they do because then we'll be able to get this moderation cr@p out of our collective heads if that presidency doesn't meet up to our preconceived standards......

I notice this jackass fails to mention any possible replacements. How bold.
I would say Pat Leahy... a pushy, socialist dolt who would love the job. Another would be Bill Nelson from FL. He'll attack anybody and seems to love the spotlight. Chuckie Schumer fits that bill as well.
Whomever they pick it will be someone taller, louder and(if you can believe it) more obstructionist.
