I remember the 1979 election between Reagan and Carter. As I drove to work in California afer voting at 7:00 am, the radio station announce said that the polls were too close to call, but if it was an early call it would be for Carter. Well I left work at 4:30 and just as I cranked up the motor the radio announcer said "We are ready to project a winner!".

Well we know what happened with those too close to call polls and the early call for Carter. People that answer pollster just don't tell them the real story.

I remember that very well. After the election, I read reports that Carter knew, Reagan knew, their campaigns knew, pollsters knew...everybody but me, knew it wasn't close at all. Before Election Day, however, they all swore it was a tie.
