Any feedback on the rally?
There were around 17,000 people there, high energy, especially when you consider that anybody who had a seat had to get there at 6:00 AM or so. It was held at a convention center without any permanent seating, so they had some chairs and temporary bleachers, the rest of us stood. The President was 30-45 minutes late, very unlike him, especially for the first campaign stop of the day. But I heard Andy Card this weekend talking about the meeting they had Saturday morning on the bin Laden tape. So that may account for his tardiness.
I have seen the President 5 times since 2000, this was the largest venue he's appeared at in this area and the tickets were gone in a day and half. He gave the same stump speech that I saw the night before in Columbus. It was a great morning, thousands and thousands of Bush supporters, parking lots filled with cars with Bush bumper stickers and smiling faces.
