Do we actually know the precise timeline of:
- Kerry's initial incautious politicizing remark
- His later more measured remark
- The "paraphrasing" push-poll
- Any other polls he might have done
- The first known post-poll remark
No, but so what? When I say that "the first thing I did this morning was check the Internet", do you care if I actually made a pit-stop at the toilet first? :-)
Seriously---this is more for rhetorical effect. And what's Kerry going to do---say, "no, that's not the FIRST thing I did, it's the FIFTH or SIXTH" :)
