In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we lift up our prayers, O God.

Hear our cries, for You alone rule over the nations.

We humble ourselves under Your mighty hand.

We praise You for Your promises, we thank You for the salvation we have in Your Son Jesus and the blood that was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.

God, have mercy. Let this nation continue to have a leader who stands for the life of unborn babies, as You do. Let this nation continue to have a leader who stands for the marriage of a man and a woman, even as You do, Lord.

God, we ask that for even these two reasons alone, You would allow this nation to continue to have a leader who stands with You, and is thus a light to the rest of the world.

Only You can perform this, Lord-- for You rule even over the heathen. For Your mercy we ask, in Jesus name.

Thanks for this prayer thread. I join you all in these prayers and petitions. Additionally -- I have this personal request, what is on my mind here in FL:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please pray for the safety and well being of our friends and family members who are poll workers, elections boards, poll watchers -- especially in battleground states (and, personally, especially in Florida and Ohio...).
They are hard working, honest people. Yet they have fingers pointed in their faces, outsiders milling in the polling areas questioning every thing they do, questioning EVERY provisional ballot and trying to halt the proceedings, and legions of lawyers on hand.
All of this is designed to intentionally create chaos and confusion. And all of this divides and undermines our communities. It is that aspect that angers me. A photo in our newspaper showed Jesse Jackson with his finger in the face of a local election official. Ask those in S Fla what it was like in 2000 with all those carpetbaggers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thank you so much for your prayers -- which in effect are prayers for the peace of mind for those of us who know and love the above folks .... and are in anguish over what we see happening in our own communities.
