Indian Air Force Spots Osama Bin Laden in Tibet-Ladkh Region, Goes on Red Alert (debkafile)

Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was spotted in the flesh just a few days ago--according to Debkafile's global security sources.

Between October 17th and October 19th, and Indian air force reconnaissance plane picked up the elusive terrorist mastermind in the Tibet Ladkh region close to the Northeastern corner of Pakistan bordering India and China.

Additional surveillance aircraft were called in and identified the Al Qaeda leader on the move with a 10 vehicle convoy of black Japanese minivans.

Four of these vehicles turned up again on October 22nd heading east towards the Chinese border.

The agents hunting the Al Qaeda leader are now working on the premise that he has decided to wait out the winter months in one of two regions: Hunza province in the Northern Frontier tip of Indian Kashmir or Little Pamir, where fanatical Tajik tribes have never allowed any Kabul government--Taliban or led by Karzai-- to secure a foothold.

Little Pamir is wedged between Tajikistan where Russian special forces are taking part in the Bin Laden dragnet are deployed.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if he was living in a villa in southern France or Switzerland.

It wouldn't surprise me to have him turn up in the Arab community of Dearborn Michigan

Great. Several of my kids and grandchildren are planning to go to Ladakh on an educational exchange program in a couple of months.

Nepal is out because of the Maoists.

The hourly news implied that they were tracking this convy right now; ahh well, we were smiling and cheering around here, but as always, FreeRepublic help clears up the mistake.

Ladakh is a pretty peaceful part of Kashmir-which is heavily guarded by the Indian army & it's primarily Buddist.Besides these reports only say he was found in the border regions of India/China/Pakistan,which are very close to each other & demarcation is very limited to say the least.

the IAF(& the other services) have been operating a lot of Israeli UAVs like the Searcher(deployed in the region) & the Heron long endurance system. It's not confirmed whether any are armed, though in 2002,Debka did report that India had been given systems which made it the only control to be able to fire missiles from it's Israeli drones(probably Russian or Israeli anti-tank weapons). The problem with using any force is the fact that the border regions(India/Pakistan & India/China) are disputed & demarcation is easier said than done-so any use of force must be within one's own territory.

Not to sound like a risk-taker, but Ladakh is a large place, and the Indian forces have a pretty strong grip on the security of the place. Besides, the inhabitants are all Buddhists. Ask your grandchildren, if they go there, to take a good film SLR camera. The panoramas there are out of this world.

LADAKH, INDIA.

I wonder whether or not he might consider it cute to
be in that cave where Muhammad composed the Koran,
the one in the mountains in Saudi Arabia, isn't it?
- - Where's Waldosama bin Laden?

I believe Martin Scorcese filmed 'Kundun' using those panoramas, they are amazing!
