"I believe this cr*p, so my employees have to live with it, too."

What a total di*k. Yet another reason I can't stomach such people.

Soy steaks and soy sloppy joes, veggie burgers, nachos and other meatless, eggless, butter-free delicacies are cooked daily using heavy bags of texturized vegetable protein.

Ugh. The first employee to develop thyroid problems ought to sue this guy into oblivion.

If that doesn't sound so great, consider this: It's all free.

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

"Vegan CEO hoping to influence employees with meat-free cafeteria"

No problem with this, at least this guy is putting his money where his employees mouth is...

... but if he attempts to stop people from bringing in their own ham and cheese sandwichs I'll have a bone to pick with him...

I'm surprised that no one brought up the realization that the food he offers isn't really free.

Liberals don't like the idea of some corporate entity making a lot of profit, but apparently, this company is to be able to feed it staff. However, wouldn't all that money spent be better off in their paychecks? Or to improve their healthcare insurance? Or go towards their retirement?

Veganism is for all practical purposes, a radical religion of sorts. Like any religion, it riles a liberal to have it forced upon them. Here it is, being thrust in their faces, yet they're too freaking dumb to see it.

Somebody needs to explain to me why the first thing the "meat hatering animal lovers" want to offer is fake meat. Seems they expend a lot of energy hiding the real flavor of the vegetable protein. Personally I'm a Soylent Green kind of guy myself. Yeah, that's it.

Well, I just brought in a bunch of pork butt off the grill sliced thin and marinated in chipolte and lime, dried chili, cracked black pepper and salt.

Its gonna be awfully good on fresh tortillas with homade pico de gallo and avacado and a side salad

IF you are a TRUE vegetarian you will NOT want to eat foods that are made to look or taste like meat. That is just plain silly to skip eating meat, then try to make veggies look or taste like meat. duh..... That is psycho.

We will be going to live in Oman. Already my husband has to work and eat with Muslims sometimes. Muslims who pray to the pagan Moon God that Mohammed prayed to. IT is offensive to eat pork at the same table with them. I plan to tell them it is offensive to me to eat at the same table with people who eat beef or veggies. And I will refuse to sit with THEM> LOL I may tell them I prefer to eat lizards, cats, and mountain lions, and poodles....

Isn't this discrimination against meat eaters?

Check out this article:

Somali workers picket Chanhassen cell phone firm
H.J. Cummins, Star Tribune
October 30, 2004 SOMALI1030

About 100 Somali workers set up a picket line Friday at the Teleplan Wireless Co. in Chanhassen, protesting conditions they said include ethnic slurs, religious insensitivity and hiring discrimination.

Almost twice that number reportedly walked off their jobs on Monday. Some have returned to work. The rest rejected a company offer to settle on Wednesday and said they will begin to consider contacting labor unions this weekend.

The company, which assembles and refurbishes cell phones, released a statement Friday saying "the door is still open" to workers who want to return. However, like any business serving customers, it continued, "we will have to begin to replace workers who choose not to come back."

The conflict is part of a growing trend as the numbers of Somali, Hmong, Latino and even Bosnian immigrants bring greater diversity to Minnesota workplaces. The state's Department of Human Rights has fielded complaints about Muslim prayer schedules and days-long Asian bereavement periods, for example. Employers have struggled with foreign-language translations of company handbooks and dietary restrictions at company functions, said Janice Downing, CEO of Fredrickson Human Resources Consulting in Minneapolis.

Oh yeah? Well my employer wont serve cheese-steak sandwiches and I LOVE those. Oh, wait, my employer doesn't have a cafeteria. Would I complain about a free salad bar every day? Nope.

Wonderful opportunity for some hard core non-vegans with a tendency toward cannibalism...

"It's not all wars and elections."

Its all the SAME war--the war of those who would mandate our individual behavior according to THEIR wishes, and not our own. The twit behind this is right there in the same slimy bunch as Johns Kerry and Edwards and all the rest of the "politically correct" socialists.

May I suggest a look at the Nanny Culture website:

http://www.consumerfreedom.com/advertisements_detail.cfm/ad/29

I don't mind whatever anyone chooses to eat or not eat as long they don't feel compelled to tell me about it or what I should or should not eat, drink, wear, etc.

Bacon is obviously the work of the Devil's workshop, but I had some this morning and boy did it taste good! I could maybe give up meat, chicken and fish, but who can live a rational life without cheese, milk, cream, butter and ice cream? You'd DIE! Or at least die unhappy.

Same sorta thing with Apple Computer or Macaholics. It's OK if you choose to use a Mac, but don't look down your nose at me because I use Windows. No lectures or looks please. I even think Macs and iPods are great designs, but my stock trading program only works on Windows. End of rant.

It must be encouraging for the employees to know that they have a lunatic for a CEO.

Kinda wonder how the shareholders feel about this use of company resources to push a personal agenda.
