Poe's local celebrity and President Bush's popularity are reasons veteran 'Rat politician Lampson trails in polls.
That and TX redistricting. I can't wait for this seat to be R once again!
awesome news!
ping
That is terrific news! I live in Louisiana now, but did live in Houston for 27 years and just love Ted Poe!! When he was judge, he was always giving unusual sentences to those convicted in his court. Go Ted Go!!
It gets better. Poe's private polls show him with a 17-point lead.
GReat News. Lampson is a pro-abortion "Catholic" who sold out to the Democratic party long ago. He was also one who helped came out with the Democratic Party's checklist of "Catholic Values" which puts not raising minumum wage on par with allowing the murder of an unborn child (Theology and the teachings of the Church not being a strong suit of the Democratic party).
Was this expected, or is this a bonus in addition to the redistricting?
Against a lesser-known opponent, Lampson would have had a hard time winning reelection, but it would have been feasible. But Ted Poe is a well-liked, law-&-order jurist who has won great publicity and acalades. Lampson's lost the election the moment Poe entered the race.
Lampson is not a practicing Catholic. He's a practicing Democrat like JF'nK. There is a Chet Edwards ad running in our district saying that he is "opposed to abortion"....only he voted to protect partial birth abortion. He's another one of those evil politicians who "personally are opposed but do not want to impose" their religious views on others. You might as well have all atheists running the country if that's all the influence your religion has on your votes. Arlene Wohlgemuth, his Rep. opponent, has been courageously pro-life throughout her career in TX politics and walks the walk as well as talks the talk.
The good news keeps piling up, but I'll keep my fingers crossed until Martin Frost has moved back to whatever Yankee state he came from.
"Arlene Wohlgemuth, his Rep. opponent, has been courageously pro-life throughout her career in TX politics and walks the walk as well as talks the talk."
Arlene Wohlgemuth is said to be quite a lady, a sort of Texan Margaret Thatcher. It would be nice if she won, but I don't expect it.
