Smelling defeat (now or in the near future) is the reason for the BIG PUSH to undermine and remove the electoral college. And we had best be ready. The public schools are already in "questioning" mode.

It's not going to happen. It would require a contitutional amendment that would be opposed by most of the small states. It wouldn't even be a close vote in the Senate where a 2/3rds majority is required. 3/4ths of the states would have to ratify, so just 13 states could block it. There are 13 states with just 1,2, or 3 congressional distritcts, and they are they states that get the biggest boost by the inclusion of the electors allocated for their senate seats. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing when they designed the US Constitution.

I understand what you are saying, but the rats have the schools, the ignorant, the rioters. They could try to make life and elections very unpleasant if they don't get their way. Do not assume that the "law" or tradition will stop them. Or the US Constitution. If our children are taught that the electoral college is "unfair" (the creative use of "unfair" being the current over-riding theme in all public school lessons) they WILL vote it down when they reach adulthood.
