"I just got my gas bill from last month when I turned the heat on for only a few hours. I am going to have to get some really warm clothes."
We have had one of the coldest Octobers in N California in a long time.
Our gas furnace has autotimers with presets to go on if the temp gets down below 60. It has gone off about every morning in October, and will cycle back in a few times until noon when when it goes off until after 6 pm. This past week, it has been going off at 5 am or earlier which means it has really been cold.
Most of the time the furnace never kicks in during October and seldom before Thanksgiving. So much for Global Warming.
We just finished putting in our fireplace, here in Louisiana. We haven't fired it up yet, as I type this my air-conditioners are going full throttle. When the cold finally gets here the fireplace with a blower in it should help keep us warm.
We're have the opposite here on the Gulf Coast...unusually warm and dry for October.
