Justice Hillary (Kerry Considering Shrillary's Appointment to US Supreme Court)

Hold on to your cloaks.

One scenario making the rounds in Washington is that if John Kerry is elected he'll nominate Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to the US Supreme Court.

There she would judge as a 'law and order feminist' in order to buidl credientials to evetually run for president after Kerry.

Sounds crazy?

Senate and even White House insiders said some moderate and female Republican senators might go for it and OK the cofirmation.

Well, I actually gave my theory on this the other day on another thread:
And, I no longer think that Hillary is waiting to be president. I think she has made another deal.

My theory is that Hitlery hasn't let the dirt on Kerry surface because she wants the one thing that will ensure her a lifetime grip on our country: a Supreme Court nomination. If Kerry gets elected, Bill Clinton will get elected to Secretary General of the UN (with Kerry's glowing approval) and Hillary will be appointed to the Supreme Court, along with 2 (or maybe 3) other liberals.

The FBI files that the Clinton's have will be enough to sway enough Republicans in the Senate to get the appointment. Look, she isn't likely to win election again in NY and she isn't likely to get elected president. Being appointed to the Supreme Court assures her a lifetime appointment, free of facing the peons at the ballot box, free to legislate from the bench, free to claim the collegial nature of the court as a reason to avoid commentary about her decisions, but the perfect background to comment on the "important legal issues facing American" (gay marriage, electoral reforms, etc.).
Theory: Why Hitlery has blown up the Kerry campaign
Well, that's the theory I had.

I have speculated since January 2004 that that was the game plan. It's funny to think of Hillary going after W.H. Taft's record of being the only person to serve as Chief Justice of the United States and President. She's no Taft. Knowledgeable Capitol Hill people tell me there's no way she would clear the Senate, but I am not so sure. Now, there is a chilling thought for Halloween--Hillary in THE black dress.

I think she has 'discovered' the country is too divided for her to be pres - Supreme Court would give her power, and a lifetime appointment - no more exposure to the press. Then if the toon is UN Sec, they will have more power with less exposure.

Kerry will lose.
So how on earth does he propose to appoint judges then?

its like fingernails on a blackboard for me...

You and so many... That's why I've never been one to fear the "Dark Witch" like so many here. She would generate the largest negative turnout ever in American politics from the right and middle.

Won't happen because Hillary has one plan and only one plan - POTUS.

She is not supporting Kerry and has pulled Bill from the campaign effort. It's over! Bush wins! Shrillary launches her presidential campaign on Nov. 3.

Specter won't be alone - the Senate GOP has proven itself to be completely spineless on Dem SCOTUS appointments in the past. Didn't Orrin Hatch co-sponsor Ruth Ginsburg's nomination? Despite all the unprecedented (or now, newly-precedented) judicial nominee fillibusters by the Senate Dems the last for years, I think the Senate GOP will revert to form should John Kerry win on Tuesday.

The only think I can say is that the day HRC wins confirmation in a Senate that has at least 41 GOP Senators is the day I stop voting Republican forever.

Nominating isn't the same a getting appointed thanks to the 'rats introducing the filibuster on nominees.

She would never be confirmed. She would be Borked big time.|

Utter nonsense and wishful thinking. I can think of a dozen GOP Senators who would vote to confirm her.

Actually she ought to be nominated for a circuit judge bench some place liberal and other wise buried and forgotten from elective politics. Since the judgeships are for life, we would nver hear from her again.

What's funny is the people that are so scared of Hillary that they can't look rationally at this- they dismiss it.
And try to be "smart" about their avoidance! LOL!

Oh well, hopefully Bush will pull it out and we will, in future, be debating what she'll be doing after Rudy kicks her out of the Senate.

"Law and Order Feminist" is a very creative line. Remember when BJC called huge tax increases and social programs "investments?" He got elected.
