We knew this was comming. If CBS could have gotten away with it they would have gone with the munition story. CBS is so damaged, this will have minimal effect.

We've been told that the "explosives story" that CBS and the New York Times were working on couldn't "hold" (per 60 Minutes producer Jeff Fagen) so it was decided that the paper would run it last Monday. Nonsense. Both organizations wanted the most bang for their buck-not to mention media coverage-and CBS had no choice. Airing that story on Halloween night when viewership is minimal would have been noticably worthless and without "oomph". That coupled with presenting it just two days before the election would not have allowed enough time for it to circulate sufficiently to make an impact.

The same holds true for this story.
