You nailed it! Did you read the AP article Saturday about unidentified Kerry insiders saying internal polls showed Bush had the momentum?
As soon as I saw that I said let's see if other reporters assigned to Kerry start sending signals of tension on his plane. The press pool knows from body language whether "their" candidate is winning or losing. I detected a change in their reporting about Wed. of this week. Kerry's reporters looked and sounded like they were just going through the motions.
Now we see this as the top political story in the Sunday Boston Globe:
SNIPS:Those are all signals planted in a story about a campaign that knows it's losing.Kerry advisers quickly backtracked, however, concluding that an escalating conflict with a major cable channel just days before the election would do nothing to help the Democratic nominee...
The furor was a rare moment of visible frustration inside the Kerry camp: Kicking a major cable outlet off of the candidate's plane would almost certainly spark a run of negative stories in the media about Kerry lieutenants lashing out and their preelection confidence vanishing.
The episode was a relatively rare flash of tensions between a presidential campaign and the media this year.
My, my - seems Komrade Kerry and his Koolaid Kampf are getting a bit "snippy", doesn't it??
