Are you sure? I got a DD214 on the day I walked out of the Fort Dix transit barraks and headed home. I still hadd IRR time left, and two years later had to go to 2 weeks summer camp in support of the NJ National Guard.

Yes, a discharge and a DD214 are different animals. I seperated twice from active duty and received a 214 both times, once enlisted and once commissioned. My HONORABLE [:)] discharges came later, two years later from enlisted and 2-3 years commissioned.
