~ BTW, what is a DD214? ~

Department of Defense form 214. A military person's official seperation paper. Need it for many things such as special vehicle tags to show you're a veteran, membership into veteran's groups, etc.

The DD214 is also used for transfers. For instance, the one that is on Kerry's website from 1970 is actually a transfer from active duty to standby reserve. It is probably the last document he received that showed honorable status. He seems to be trying to pass that off as a discharge. If you look at the President's file, you will find several DD214's transfering him from one assignment to another.
