Expect Taxes to go way way up, or cuts in other department, usually military.

My brother in law in Boston pays about 8000$ per year on health insurance (YOUR HOSPITALS LOOK LIKE HOTELS, ours look like chicken farms) and when he adds what he pays in taxes + what he pays in Health Insurance, he is still way below the 48% I pay, and I do not make much, just over $50K Canadian.

Do NOT lose what you have, you have a great deal...

I like your comment about our hospitals looking like hotels.

Up until recently, I worked (on an as needed basis) at a local hospital here. Employees there complained about the hospital looking like a hotel but patients still sleeping on lumpy, old mattresses. (and the hospital is quite beautiful, IMO)

While we were in Canada this past August, I read a newspaper article where Canada is trying to figure out how to get more doctors.

Where do you live in Canada? Our Canadian employees make $85,000 (Cdn) and only pay about 30% in taxes plus $54 a month in health fees.

We are broke. Our system is broke!!!

I thought your Government just announced over $9 billion in surplus? Sounds hardly broke to me.
