BUSH HAS THE MO [NRO, "The Corner" - another chat with Bush insider]

BUSH HAS THE MO [KJL]

That's the GOP message tonight as they work to the ends of the continental U.S. and beyond--to Honolulu!! Bush/Cheney is confident this Saturday night. They believe these last days will prove they have made significant inroads throughout the U.S. at the grassroots level. Starting yesterday, 150,000 volunteers are working in the tightest states, contacting 18 million voters to get out the vote for W. They say they’ve registered 3.4 million more Republicans since the last presidential election. That those GOTVers are volunteers, too, they say is significant.

In Florida alone—on Friday alone—GOP officials say volunteers knocked on 170,000 doors and made 200,000 calls. Though E Day they expect those numbers to hit 17,000 volunteers will 800,000 doors and 1.2 million calls. Just in Florida, a state where they’ve been confident for more than a few days now. But it’s not lackluster in Ohio either. GOP officials are saying 14,000 volunteers will knock on 400,000 doors and make 990,000 calls.

I was just about to report to this thread on the Amish vote this year. PA is my home state. They were out in force at the Lancaster rally. Very rare.

They are a God fearing and worshiping group and don't like foreigners, terrorists or terrorist enablers (liberals) doing moral, spiritual or physical damage to the country they love and who's forfathers helped to build.

BTW, they are CONSERVATIVES! They dress that way and paint all the chrome on their vehicles black.

With their vote, we may just surprise Kerry and company on wednesday the 3rd!

After reading Cronkite's regular weekly newspaper column for a while, I can tell you is has become a seriously deranged barking moonbat.

I bet he has spent more time "working" on this election than he has spent "working" for 20 years in the senate. I head that terezzzzzzzza has been complaining about not being able to spend any time with him (I don't know why that would bother her) so obviously he doesn't spend much time doing anything normally.

I think it would come as an unpleasant surprise, if he was elected that the Presidency is 24/7 365.

I heard that President Bush met privately with some Amish people a few weeks ago. Is that true?

Actually, that is a very good point i haven't seen made yet.

The majority of those reporters traveling with Dubya do not want him to win. We speak about watching the campaign to determine the direction the election is headed, but the MSM could be telling as well.

The reporters closest to Bush have not been leaking in glee reports the campaign is in trouble. If they had the slightest hint it was trending toward Kerry or locked in a dead heat, we'd be hearing about it.

Saturday afternoon Fox was talking up their latest poll numbers which had Bush up only 2 over Kerry, 47-45. Osama's video caused Bush to lose 3 points?

Are you certain that it was the same poll?

You are so right, whenever I see Norah O'Donnell reporting for MSNBC with the Bush campaign, she looks like she is gritting her teeth when she smiles. She really looks pained.

Oh, and Mark Shields on Capital Gang was saying what John King was saying yesterday. Why isn't Bush going back to Washington so he can be by his Natl Sec Adivisor and others in case of an attack.

They would love to get him off of the campaign trail, they get upset when Condi is out on the road. I guess they never heard of telephones where people can talk to each other without being in the same city.

Actually some Mennonites paint their cars black ,some still drive Black buggies

Amish don't have cars they drive Grey buggies

Been biking the back roads around Intercourse since 84 and couldn't believe the Amish lining the road cheering Bush a month or two back
I alwys thought they din't vote

I'm not sure I understand your question. The Fox poll today had Bush at 47, Kerry at 45. Their previous poll had Bush at 50, Kerry at 45. The figures were virtually the same when Nader was added as an option. Bush and Kerry were tied among "registered voters" today (and I think that was true of the last poll too).

"They may be trying to motivate their constituents to get out and vote OR they could lose."

I understand the point you're making, I just don't agree with it. In politics, people aren't motivated by "Get out or we could lose," they're motivated by "Get out there and be part of the winning team!" The message every campaign always wants to put out is, "We're winning, so get out there and work harder so that we can ice this!" It is never in a campaign's interest to admit that they're behind, even temporarily. If someone on the Kerry team is admitting that, then it's a sign the rats are starting to abandon the sinking ship.

Hello,

We were sent to an area that is typically heavy Rep. My guess, they normally vote 80% R - 20% D. Our goal was to make sure that the Bush supporters actually got to the polls on Tuesday.

Biggest news: The Bush voters were pumped!! Only one guy said that he would "try" to get to the polls, everyone else were practically giving us high-fives.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

" Kerry's reference to 9/11 as "THAT RAID" needs to be spread from the highest mount.

I have been saying this all day .
It's so dismissive- just like " That woman."
Surely, the RNC and B/C 04 must be aware of this.
As you say, it is a glimpse into Kerry's soul and they are missing a golden opportunity, if they don't blast this all over the tri state area - ASAP.

***He has been going around telling people he was "going to grow up and be president someday" for so long, that even if he really doesn't want to be anymore, he wouldn't even recognize it. ***

I agree with you. I don't even think he wants the responsibility, let alone the hard work. He sure couldn't stand the scrutiny!

***I bet when these two terrorist videos came in, he had to do a major "clench" to keep from pooping his pants.***

Yep, I bet he needed some new underwear. LOL!

I guess I'd rather have them talk about the election than the Peterson trial, or Kobe, or Michael Jackson. I think Greta has a fetish for dysfunctional males. UGH.

***We'll know by ~8:15 EST when NH, FL, OH, PA, and MI are in the bag. B 52, K 47 ---- >360 EV's for W.***

YES!!! I can't help but think he also needs to win a bunch of "little" states. If he wants to contest one or two big states, it will be easier than 4-6 "little" states. You've got a pretty overwhelming victory predicted there, and I hope and pray you're right!
