I think this Greg Palast clown was on Hannity and Colmes yesterday. He's a Democrat operative, although he wouldn't admit it to Hannity. This story will blow back into some U.S. papers tomorrow.

"Claim" is the right word. Using that word, evidence is not needed.

Although allegations of misconduct have been levelled at both parties recently, the majority of complaints that have been identified in The Observer' s investigation involved claims against local Republicans. Greg Palast, is, in short, a radical Leftist propagandist. And a liar, if that's not too redundant.

Greg Palast litterally wrote the book on how Bush stole the last election. I heard him on the Bernie Ward show (radio talk show here, well, back at home on KGO radio. Local mostly liberal radio station). Talk about conspiracy theorist, Bush is evil, the right is taking our rights away, media is a crazed corporate shill, BRITISH liberal (he used to work for the BBC as a 'investigative reporter'). He was a kook then, and he is a kook now. Seems to have this air of superiority given how stupid we were to allow Bushie here the Presidency.

Got a large double-side, glossy brochure from the dem party here in madison, wi telling me to be on the lookout for "Republican Tricks and Intimidation"
The brochure went on to say that if I were to witness something that I should report it to one of the many 'volunteers' who would be wearing, armbands I think with 'Act' or maybe 'Act-up' on them. (am at work and the brochure is on its way to a landfill)
A real load of crap, as the stealth-commie dems are the only ones who have been disenfranchising or intimidating voters that I know of!

I have a suspicion that this election will be a circus, or worse. It may eclipse the debacle of the Bush/Gore/2000 fiasco.
Across the country, voters are going to be harassed for proof of identification. Compounded with the bizarre amount of newly registered voters, confusion on where they can vote and other pesky details that will be challenged on election day, I don't think it would surprise me if there is absolute turmoil about the national election results.
I'm not trying to a read crystal ball or tea leaves, just putting the puzzle pieces on the table. In our rural county of Ohio, both the democratic and republican parties have decided to "play nice" and not challenge voters at the polls.

The Cleveland media reported a week or so ago that the Board of Elections has been "overwhelmed" this year... hinting that they may not have all the voter data properly processed by yesterday (the day voting materials have to be shipped to the precincts).
Statewide, the Secretary of State/State Supreme Court ruled last week that should an individual show up to vote, be at the wrong place or not on the rolls at all, they will NOT be given a provisional ballot (previously how the matter was handled). I can hear the throngs screaming "disenfranchised" now; as they expect the more densely populated counties will have the most mistakes (hence, poorer, "minority" laden areas).
Fasten your seat-belts and get out your popcorn, we are in for one hell of a ride. Admission is free, but the cost will be high.

I've seen Palast on C-SPAN and he's a full-blown Marxist propagandist. He wrote a book on the 2000 election debacle in Florida and accused Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris of everything short of killing John Kennedy, repeating and beefing up every myth and lie the democrats told about that situation. When a caller pointed out that all these problems occurred in democrat-run counties, Palast immediately started screaming 'racist'.
He lives in England and writes for the Guardian; apparantly he can't even find anyone stateside to publish his garbage.

"the majority of complaints that have been identified in The Observer' s investigation involved claims against local Republicans. "
Guess what happens when you walk around with one eye closed?
You only see one side of the story...
After 2000, anyone who doesnt know what side of the aisle Palast stands firmly on, doesnt know who he is.

One of the more serious claims is that no action has been taken in a complex fraud, where more than 4,000 Florida students were allegedly conned into signing a form which could lead them to be doubly registered and void their votes. The Florida Law Enforcement Department has told the complainants that it is too busy to investigate. I coudn't stand listening to this guy on H&C last night, a total nut job but there are plenty of people who want to believe his BS as gospel.
Has anyone heard of the above student scam he was talking about? I never heard of it, not even on DU.
