Cheney is the best thing about the Bush administration. I wish the ticket was reversed and HE was the President running for reelection against Kerry. I say this acknowledging that I am a Bush supporter and I already have voted for him via an absentee ballot. However, Dick Cheney impresses me so in how succinctly and forcefully he expresses himself, and it frustrates me how so many times Bush fails to do so. Can you imagine how the VP would so calmly and decisively handle Kerry in a debate? Just like he did with that sissy little trial lawyer he spanked not long ago. I give George W. Bush credit for having the wisdom to choose Cheney as his Vice President, and resisting the bad advice given him to replace him with Condi Rice or whoever else was deemed as more attractive and sellable to the voting public. Cheney is always coldly on target when he speaks and never gets flustered or tries to be "Mr. Nice Guy". You can't give these democrat vermin any slack or let your guard down at any time and misspeak as Bush is sometimes prone to do. Cheney never makes these mistakes and must be a nightmare for any liberal who tries to debate him.

Good, cogent analysis of Cheney....I agree with you. It is too bad that voters DO tend to vote for "looks over substance" (that's how Clinton got elected), but let's hope that people are smarter this election -- and not swayed by the "all fluff and no substance" candidates (the two Johns). You are right: Cheney is a rock in the Bush administration -- he might not have the "looks", but looks really don't matter when the cause of the person is right. Bush made an EXCELLENT choice in selecting Cheney as VP as Cheney ADDS TO the gravitas that Bush ALREADY HAS himself! I agree also that Cheney is succinct and well-spoken and adds a LOT to the Bush ticket. In my view, the election on Nov 2nd will be a TRUE referendum on not only domestic/foreign policies but ALSO on the team with the gravitas to get the US through this war on terror. And when it comes down to that the Pres/Cheney win every time.

Cheers from Toronto. :-)
