One possible explanation for all the various "discharge dates" is that Kerry had those in positions of power to upgrade his discharge status over a period of time. Incrementalism is the Liberal's best friend. He likely would have had difficulty getting anyone to change his discharge status directly from "Dishonorable" to "Honorable", therefore he could have had his status upgraded over a period of years. Political cronies being asked for a seemingly meaningless favor would not hesitate to call in a favor for a powerful politician.

Another interesting revelation is that Clinton's Secretary of the Navy apparently backdated Kerry's official seperation date in order to pre-date his protest activities and arrest, which would have disqualified Kerry from elected office by virture of the Constitution.

What is John Kerry hiding? Why doesn't he sign the Standard Form 180 and release his military service and medical records to the public?

Join the petition.

Even the SecNav cannot change time. He did the crime, he must serve the time: He is NOT qualified to be President -- or Senator -- and anyone testifying to that would be preventing the occurence of a felonious offense, not breaking privacy rules. Come on down now, (former) SecNav!

It kills me, but this story isn't going to get any play in the MSM.

> Bush, by the way, did the right thing--he signed his Form 180.

Strictly speaking, he did not, but what he did had the same effect.

As far as I've been able to determine, Bush issued a verbal
Presidential Order releasing his records. This order is what
permits the various court-approved FOIA fishing expeditions
still under way.

If it was a written P.O., it's not on the White House site,
last I looked.

Kerry, of course, is still stonewalling.

Until sKerry puts his signature on the line to release form 180 this is all speculation, probably true but speculation.

If this man can get elected by Lying about and then Hiding his history, as you have probably heard before "Man you ain't seen nothing yet"!

Great article...
You stated that many employers ask for DD214 when a veteran applies for a job. Just wondering if we know of any jobs that sKerry had right after discharge (even govt work) that might have this record in their files. I don't have great search skills, but maybe one of you pajama clad bloggers could find something...man would that be an October surprise or what!!!

God help us if we get someone with a dishonorable discharge in the Presidency. What a disgrace to even have him as a Senator.

The only 180 John Kerry hasn't accomplished in his litany of flip-flops throughout his campaign is Standard Form 180...

Great line.

You see the dwindling number of yellow-shirted "Firefighters for Kerry" at the Kerry campaiogn stops? Each and every one of them who was a vet had to submit Form DD214 to become a firefighter. The highest public-service job in the world (POTUS) should require production of Form DD214. By the way, MANY union firehouses have cars parked behind them with "Firefighters for Bush" signs on them.

Colonel Patterson wrote "Apparently...clear violations of the Constitution, US Codes, and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."

The delusional Mr. Kerry seems to believe that these little issues about his (apparent) dishonorable removal from our military will just go away once he assumes office. They will not.

I'm thinking that if Mr. Kerry (shudder) were to win, then impeachment proceedings could begin the day he is (ugh) sworn in.

Click the "A November 6, 1971 interview with John Kerry on protesting the war in Vietnam. (10 min.)" link.

At the 2:54 mark, there is this interchange;

Moderator: Was there ever any question about you being dishonorably discharged?

Kerry: No, no that has never been questioned.

There's more you can do!

Highly regarded 'The Federalist'  website has submitted a petition to Congress and the Attorney General with 180,000 signers on October 18th for action after the election. Since then over 6,500 additional have signed.

Petition to Investigate and Indict John F. Kerry for acts of treason

Signers: 186519

Though John Kerry has an extensive and well-documented record of anti-American activities over the past three decades, it is his acts of treason in 1970-71 that are the subject of this petition for indictment. Our appeal notes both Kerry's violations of the UCMJ (Article 104 part 904) and U.S. Code (18 USC Sec. 2381 and 18 USC Sec. 953), and calls for his disqualification for public office in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

Why prosecute John Kerry now? In October 2003, Mr. Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war record the centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency; this has been especially true since his primary victory in March 2004. In response, more than 165,000 signatories of the above-referenced petition for indictment have made his war record the centerpiece of their campaign to disqualify Kerry from public office. We understand that no action is likely to be taken on this petition until after the 02 November election. Be it known, however, that on 03 November, we will seek full recourse in an effort to have John Kerry prosecuted for acts of treason and disqualified from any future campaign for any national office. We are thus committed to holding Mr. Kerry accountable for his actions, as there is no statute of limitations for acts of treason.

Pass it on to others!
