Robert George, a very well respected conservative columnist with the New York Post, and an African-American himself, opines how Kerry is doing poorly (he cites a very recent survey) in motivating African-American voters, traditionally one of the democratic parties most reliable blocks, to support him. Kerry polled only 69% with this group (Gore polled 90+% in 2000), and 18% say they support Bush (click the link), bad news for Kerry and very good news for Bush!

Next Wednesday we can repeat the headline modified slightly:

"Kerry Did Not Do Well with Voters"

I think these stories are going to be huge. The Democrats have been buying the votes of black people with economic crutches that trap them in poverty, and then use those votes to further their secularist agenda. This isn't just about the votes of 12% of the nation, it's about the identity of the Democrat party, which is "saving" minorities and telling Republicans that they are racist for opposing these economic crutches. Now that blacks are turning against the Democrats, their secularist agenda will be laid bare.

Well when white people had to hold up the "African Americans for Kerry" signs in the rally for Edwards, I sort of figured that out, LOL.

So he's not doing as well as Gore with blacks, Latinos, women, youth, men, the Jewish vote, the military...Why do they have him nearly tied? Why the Zogby prediction? There are just so many gay voters in the U.S., even if they vote as Slate recommends...twice!

let me get this straight - it's being report that Kerry is losing support of women, blacks & hispanics, all traditional Democrat groups. He's also got his base energized. Terrorism is the # 1 issue and he's creaming Kerry by like 20% points on it. So, how can he have a slight lead or be even tied in polls? Someone explain that to me please.

Joe Lockhart and Susan Ostrich will say, "If it weren't for Bush, Kerry would have won."

I'll believe it when I read it AFTER the election.
Until then, it qualifies as 'wishful thinking'...

I have a feeling that Bush is more ahead than the polls...but there's no story quite like a close election!

I think the exit-polls will shock the MSM....

Part of the article deals with a Kerry snub of Wilberforce College black students who had gathered in the rain for a quick visit by the candidate. Kerry stuck out a fist salute as the motorcade drove by without stopping. This and an attempted buy-off with tickets for another rally and a visit by Reverend Al did not appease the students.

A telling quote by one of the students was, "If you can't handle this situation, which is minor, how are you going to handle the type of situations a president faces?"

Didn't Kerry pull this same stunt in Kansas?

a wise man once said that the simplest solution to the problem is often the correct one. if Kerry is down among all his traditional groups he therefore cannot be up overall. Especially when Bush show no corresponding collapse in his traditional groups. Thus we are being lied to by the MSM.

No national pundit will come out and say Kerry is toast because they don't want to look like a fool on Wednesday morning, even if the chances of that are slim and none. But if Kerry wins that will be the least of their problems!

Should have spent less time on the slopes and more time in black churches.

My thoughts exactly. Obviously, they're not going to vote for Dubya. JF'nK will still get 90% of the black vote. The only question is how many of them will bother to vote (oh, and how many times each).

Well when white people had to hold up the "African Americans for Kerry" signs in the rally for Edwards, I sort of figured that out, LOL.

Just from my microcosm, among all the Black families, friends and co-workers I know, they are too busy raising good kids, making good livings, and generally, being just like everyone else, to be bothered with the old-fashioned giveaways. They have developed a different kind of pride..not a racist fiction, but genuinely being proud of their lives.

One example: A new technical hire ten years ago, an inner city kid, with a bad knife scar one one of his arms, took a computer programming course. He found he had a natural talent for it. He moved out of state for a better position a few years after we hired him, but he kept in touch because he was sentimental about his first job. He just e-mailed me the architectural drawings of the new house he is having built, along with construction photos, and it makes mine look like a shanty. So he is not wallowing in misery and blaming everyone else for anything.

Another couple moved out of the city..they ran a little neighborhood store. The guy's brother was killed in a robbery, and they got disgusted and moved to the burbs. They live four houses down from me, and have three really nice kids...the girl is popular (cheerleader), the boys are grown and married now. The only clumsy social thing we ever had with them is when they showed up to one of our Halloween parties in Klan Sheets, but once the initial numbness wore off everyone was rolling on the floor laughing.

Sooner or later it leaks out that anyone can make it if they want to.

None of them are victims of anyone or anything (Except the IRS, just like everyone else!!)
