I am a newbie also - but just to posting. I have lurked for a long while. However, Navy Chief would NEVER state this if it wasn't true or just a rumor. He is the real deal, give the man his due.

Ok, I was in the Army during Vietnam, not that it matters as I was serving in Europe. But which ever SecNav that might have signed the papers in the 1970's could possibly be prevented by official military privacy regulations from disclosing antibody's type of discharge to the public. Even 30 years later.
