Yeah, they tried this in the public schools here. Backtracked pretty darn quick.

I meant to add that the public schools wanted to SELL party trays at like 4 to 5 times the cost of what the moms could make. Also, the kids rarely eat the cupcake anyway.

There's nothing like the joy in a child's eyes when he is blowing out the candles on his birthday broccoli.

Smoke is bad for the children. Must use carrots as candles.

Games and crafts won't do enough to combat obesity. Make them run laps.

Principal Robert Davis's was mad because some biker called him a cupcake once.

Perhaps they should start by banning the crap that they dish out in their own lunchrooms.

There is nothing wrong with cupcakes--it is discrimination I say:-)

Our schools asked parents to donate a book to the child's classroom and a second book to the school library in their child's name, instead of sendng treats for birthdays.
I thought it was a good idea.

Feed the precious children Soylent Green, Mr. Davis. That's obesity conscious, isn't it?

We need to remember that this whole "Cupcake Quagmire" arose during the Bush administration and John Kerry has brought to our attention that Americans need to be more sensitive to the rest of the world. This cupcake ban should help end the worlds cupcake shortage and the world will be a better more loving and kind place for it.

Oh WTF!? First some school district in WA cancels its Halloween celebration, because it's "disrepectful to witches", and now these kids can't even have a cupcake on their birthday?

Maybe he should invoke a program to go to all the childrens' homes at dinner time too just to make sure they're not eating anything like that there either; you know, desserts, cookies, etc.
He can have regular refrigerator inspections too!
This guy is a moron plain and simple! He clearly thinks really highly of himself, more highly than he ought to.
