I'm guessing but it could partly be that Hawaii likes to be on the winning team. Being far out in the Pacific and ignored is lonely. California can afford to be ignored by Bush, and they are, but Hawaii could really benefit.

I think its a mistake to ignore CA. 54 electorals at one time would sure save the campaign alot of calculating, strategery & worry over a close election.

If it turns out Bush loses by less than 7 pts without any campaign visits or expenditures, it will be clear - to me anyway - that with just a little effort he could've won it.

The GOP has GOT to stop reflexively writing off CA.
