We're Not Surprised [IBD Editorial-media bias-missing explosives]

Campaign '04: The more we learn about the Iraq weapons "scandal," the more our initial doubts about the accuracy and importance of the story are confirmed.

We said here that Monday's New York Times report of U.S. soldiers allowing 380 tons of weapons to be looted from the al-Qaqaa site was an October surprise to damage President Bush's chances for re-election. Nothing that has happened since has changed our minds.

[snip]

What is clear is that those who seized on the story to discredit Bush were far too hasty — though that hasn't stopped Sen. John Kerry from deceitfully hammering on it while campaigning.

If Kerry were running a less desperate campaign, he would steer clear of the issue...

I'll say it again. After Bush is re-elected, he has to go after the media or we will be faced with this in every election. Something has to be done. NOW!

Sorry, but it's up to the American people to solve this problem.

The president of the United States has no business (or constitutional authority) "going after" the media.

If people would stop watching/reading this crap, they MSM would go out of business. All indications are that we are witnessing that right now.

The market has to deal with the socialist media. Government will just make it worse. Conservatives are doing well. Elderly people that were talking about how smart Hillary Clinton was in the 90's are now referring to CBS as part of the "Socialist Democratic Party."

Headway is being made. Landslides Tuesday will finish the one-party media for good. Viacom stock is drastically underperforming.
