As much as one loves one's parent, the knowledge you claim is unknowable in spite of your protestations to the contrary. Neither intimate relationship, psychological assessment skills, nor juridical faculties would give you that particular insight. Sorry. My mother went to daily Mass, and is sainted. She would never vote for a Republican because she never did. It was ingrained in her not to.
That lessens any kind of culpability she might have had.
But, then, there wouldn't have been any, since voting for a pro-choice politician is not a mortal sin anyway.
