I see a good man in our president. Kerry is the epitome of everything I don't like. I have been taught by this very same faith to always confront evil, to stand up as a man. Consider the decline in morality of the faithful, even to the point of what people wear to Mass. When our president went to visit the pope, this good Catholic boy was wondering if Bush shouldn't be scolding the pope about not fighting evil not the other way around.
Fellow Catholic boy ditto.
Badpacifist -- you said it all....15 years of Catholic education, regular mass attendence, and an undying faith in Catholic teaching has been undone by the actions and moral relativism of the current American Catholic church, and the inability of the leaders of the Church at home and in Rome to stand for the principles they used to hold sacred.
If a New Catholic Church is formed, I'll be there in a heartbeat - but until then, I can not in good conscious remain in this Church.
To paraphrase a famous Anglican we all love: I didn't leave the Catholic Church, the Catholic Church left me!
I saw two cars in the parking lot at my church last Sunday with Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers...it took all of my strength not to linger by their car to see who these idiots were. There is no single moral argument to attend church and promote voting for Pro-Abortion candidates.
Thankfully my husband and children were in the car, and I could not even think of this course of action.
