FReepers of good will can agree to disagree.
If they (John and Ken) were not connecting with the public in some way they would have lost their audience a long time ago. The fact that they have helped to organize large groups to actively hold the politicos feet to the fire means that they have hit a nerve.
No one is asking you to jump on any band wagon. If you love Drieir and what he has done about the illegals, than good for you. The rest of us (especially those of us in Mexifornia) see the result of his tenure in office in our illegals-occupied schools, illegals-bled closing hospitals, and illegals-packed prisons.
Yes, they can and frequently do. The problem is people who are not of good will.
If you love Drier...
You see, that's the issue. I have made it clear over and over again that my problem is with J&K and their stunt. To me, this is not about Drier, or illegals, or any political issue. It is about a pair of radio jocks who, in my opinion, are doing more harm than good. I am capable of separating the issue from these two opportunists who happen to be flogging it at the moment.
You are right -- FReepers of good will are likely to understand my point and not hurl hysterical, stupid insults my way. They will not rage and rant whenever anyone takes a position that even slightly diverges from their own. They will not feel the need to defend J&K, and would not confuse someone's dislike of those two bozos with where that person stands on illegal immigration. Got it?!
That's fine, you have a problem with them. I and numerous others here do not. Nothing else has worked and finally we are getting some response. If you can think of a way to get Asa Hutchinson to come out two times to California to talk about illegals, I'm all ears. This was the first time in 4 years. If you find another way to get Drieir to actually posit some meaningful legislation about illegals, let's hear it. Up till now, he not only ignored us, he bragged about it. I'm up for any suggestion that you have. Let's hear it.
Got it?
And you tried to pass yourself off as someone of good will.
Nope. Though apparently you have no idea of what actually happened to Prop 187.
But being the generous and helpful soul that I am, I'll help alleviate your profound ignorance.
Prop 187 was never reviewed by the Supreme Court. It was never even reviewed by the Ninth Circuit Court. Federal Judge Marianne Pfaelzer sat on the Proposition until Pete Wilson's term expired. She then declared the Prop unConstitutional. Gov Gray Davis, not wanting the Proposition to get reviewed, did not challenge Judge Pfaelzer's ruling. Thus the Propostion was struck down by one judge, with the cooperation of Gray Davis.
So, I give up- "who was Governor when the Supreme Court appeal was ignored"? Only those of you in the parallel universe where there was such an appeal know the answer.
Wow, I always wondered who was in charge of measuring goodwill.
I'm curious- was it "a stunt" when J&K used their show to push Gray Davis' recall? Was it a stunt when they rallied voters behind Arnold? Or is it only a stunt when they oppose the darling of the Log Cabin Club?
Nice try, but you need to learn the facts of the case before you try employing attitude.
Pzaelzer and Davis short-circuited the appeals process by reaching a mediated agreement. Ergo Prop 187 was never reviewed by the Supreme Court, as you sought to inform us. Nor a Federal Appeals Court, nor anyone higher than Pzaelzer herself. Feel free to try again to salvage your belief that 187 was ruled on by the Supremes.
As for J&K, had listened to them for a long time, since they first came on the air in L.A. in the early '90's. I gave up listening to them at least four years ago, because I can't stand them -- especially John, whose immature cackling laugh, short fuse, and stupid stunts just grate on me. I don't like them. I don't like anything about them. End of discussion.
