Red Sox pitching ace Curt Schilling will accompany President George W. Bush to his campaign stops in Manchester and Portsmouth on Friday.
The Union Leader has learned Schilling will appear with Bush at rallies at the Verizon Wireless Arena and at the Pease International Tradeport.
Schilling urged viewers to vote for Bush on ABCs Good Morning America program yesterday morning. The Bush campaign then quickly invited him to join the President in his final campaign visit to the Granite State, sources said. Schilling gladly accepted.
It is unclear if Schilling will be wearing his now-legendary bloody sock, which came to symbolize the Red Sox dramatic run to their first World Series title in 86 years. But dont be surprised if he waves it to the crowd, or if the crowd waves mock bloody socks at him in appreciation of his courageous pitching performances during the playoffs and World Series.
Schilling made the unexpected endorsement of the President on the ABC program just as he and his wife, Shonda, wrapped up an interview with host Charles Gibson.
And make sure you tell everybody to vote, Schilling said Gibson, and vote Bush next week.
Democratic Presidential challenger John Kerry will make a visit to New Hampshire on Sunday. Details have yet to be announced.

There was a picture of Kerry on TV tonight with a Red Sox cap on. Kerry doesn't even know the names of the Red Sox players! Again, he's a total fraud, "just a gigalo".

I was just thinking the same thing.

It might be nice to send Shilling to Philadelphia also. Or at least buy some TV spots there featuring him.

Apparently that was the answer to Kerry's remark in the 2nd debate that "Living in a fantasy world is fine if you are a Red Sox fan..."

HAH. Schilling stumping for Dubya? That will go over like a lead balloon with the vast majority in Red Sox country. Excellent!

That's great but the interview ends with Gibson. "Whoa. All right, well, something else that divides the nation as well."
Apparently Mr. Schilling threw an unwanted splitter at Gibson.

I think that NH will go to the President with a bigger margin them most expected. I live in MA and work the border of MA and Southern NH and traveling the roads in highways last week I did an informal survey of cars (you know waiting in and out of traffic), out of 251 cars sporting bumper stickers, There were 147 for President Bush, 89 for Senator Kerry,9 for Ralph Nader, and 6 split among 3 different names who I don't have a clue about. And I only counted cars with NH license plates. Now I am not sure if the area of Nashua and Salem are heavy republican which might account for the high Pro President count, but what I do know, there are lots of cars and properties that show support for the President. Not to mention Kerry is running a lot of ads on the MA TV Stations, that might reach NH while the President is sticking to the main NH channel we get. I also believe things come in 3's, Red Sox's won, President Bush will win big, and John Kerry will lose MA(G)
