The FedEx hazmat guy (FedEx does more hazmat shipments than any other company in the world) says:
The IATA UN classification number for HMX in 0226. This should appear as UN 0226 in bold black lettering enclosed by a black rectangle, and must be on two opposing sides of the container.
The"23----" that appears on the barrel near the IATA sticker may be a sloppy rendition of a UN number improperly executed. If so, this is not HMX.

More from the FedEx hazmat man: Actually, all the 4-digit UN IATA numbers for explosives begin with zero, so the 23 must refer to something else.
The label identifying numbers in the IATA system are:
HMX is UN 0226
RDX is UN 0072
PETN is UN 0150

The IATA UN classification numbers for explosives all begin with zero., so that "23---" probably is something else. There isn't any 023x that falls into 1.1, either
HMX is UN 0226
RDX is UN 0072
PETN is UN 0150

There was some expert on CNN that said it was not HMX. Just on MSNBC was that whimp inspector (US) guy with the mustache saying it was HMX.
