I remember reading this article and yes there were many reports about Russia's involvement with Saddam. The problem was that the administration refused to acknowledge the Russia/Iraq relationship publicly, for obvious diplomatic reasons. We could't take on both Russia and Iraq at the same time.

If that is the case, it was a big mistake. By failing to call Russia on the carpet, it freed her up to challenge us in the UN and disrupt our alliances...all the while appearing squeaky clean.
