Welcome to Free Republic.
Your writing speaks of a higher education than is required for a janitor. Do you read much? Obviously.
Never allow education to interfere with your learning.
FYI: I are gradiated form hi skool. I wasn't always a janitor, ya know. I used to wash DISHES, so it's not like this is ALL I could do...
I never actually associate learning with occupation, perhaps because my "trade" requires none. Doesn't matter what one knows if there's no official certificate to convince prospective employers---and I don't have a handy $30,000 to pay for an 8 1/2 x 11 wall decoration that says I know what I know.
"Formal education" (Humanist indoctrination) is no substitute for personal reading.
That said, I didn't have to read much more than the Bible to know stabbing babies was a bad thing and that electing Kerry = stabbing babies.
Thanks for the sorta compliment. Jefferson counted on a society of well-read and infomed laborers and shopkeeps to safeguard his Republic. Looks like he proved too optimistic, in the main. Janitors conversant in Locke, Rutherford and Bastiat? That was the original idea!
