I just posted a thread about LackHeart being on The Big Story too. Gibson let LackHeart play him like a cheap fiddle!

Every time Gibson would ask him about the counter dictions concerning the missing 380 tons of HE Lackheart would immediately go into the Democratic spin of this was all Bush’s fault, these explosives are in the hands of terrorists now because of Bush’s incompetence, and let’s not forget the old worn out when it looks positive in this situation – how DARE anyone question the HEROISM of John Kerry song and dance.

This is what is burning me up - when are any of these commentators going to quit letting these Democryts sidestep the real issues on their shows and nail these Kerry shills with these out and out biased lies?

No. He retired from service around 1994.

McPeak was elevated into a command position right before the war, because his predecessor in the Air Force had a big mouth, and discussed combat tactics that we would use in the Gulf war with the media. Cheney fired his ass the next day, and McPeak got the job.

No he was not involved in the WOT.

He's the retired USAF General that was in the RAT ad that says "Four Years ago I voted for George W. Bush..." and then goes on to rip the President for Iraq and makes the claim he's now voting for sKerry.

Ok, I just Googled gnl mcpeak and it came up with five hits, the first two being from the Guardian - tells ya right there. Both links are dead ends to stories that have already been removed.

Whoever he is, he's yesterday's news...

McPeak was a tv war analyst for KGW(NBC affiliate in Portland, Or.) during the war. He lives in Lake Oswego and went there each night after his ardent schedule of 2 broadcasts a day.

General Merrill McPeak was the senior officer in the Air Force during Desert Storm after his predecessor got fired for saying he "would bomb Saddam and his mistresses" (or something to that effect) He did NOT operationally command during that war but he was a fighter pilot in Vietnam.

McPeak is (arguably) the worst Chief of Staff there ever was, and was obsessed with getting the service pretty new uniforms and almost personally ran the Air Force into the ground. He was then and still is widely ridiculed and reviled for his policies.

General Tommy Franks commanded troops which, in cooperation with our Allies and local insurgents and supported by airpower, toppled a govt and freed people suffering religious persecution all while killing or capturing many Al Queda and keeping them on the run. Remember the MSM and pundits pointing out that both the British and Russians were defeated by the Afghans and that we were going to get slaughtered on the battlefield? Well, after a few weeks, troops on horse and pickup trucks, and airplanes raining bombs down, the Taliban was routed.

Does McPeak have a clue, not a one. Did Franks command victorious troops in two wars, your damn right. When McPeak endorsed Kerry, I knew the President would win.
