I'm tired of going through this but one more time..

Early voting makes it easy for working stiffs (Republicans) to get to the polls. We've had it in Texas for ages and it's one of the leading reasons that this is now an ALL Republican state. We love it here. Try it, you'll like it too. There is clearly a lot more Republicans who benefit than Democrats who might cheat. When legal votes are greatly increased (by early voting) the fraudulent votes become more diluted and less effective.

Period!

My family in Texas have already vote for Bush - and each only once.

might work for you in texas. However, it could cost the president the state of wisconsin, which he could win if fraud was curtailed.

In wisconsin there is NO voter id requirement. You can even show up to register the same day - and not even have to show id if you have another person vouch for you.

(BTW, some idiotic republicans thought this would be great idea, too - those republicans are just too busy to register ahead of time)

Wisconsin went for gore in 2000 by about 6,000 votes - more than likely it was decided by vote fraud.

GWB has done some really idiotic things WRT voting that may cost him the election. The voting law passed during his tenure is one of them.

Oh, you want to know why wisconsin is still that way? Because GWB had the brilliant idea of naming gov tommy thompson to HHS. After he left, a worthless LT gov took over and bungled the election completely. At the same time the republicans took control of the legislature for the first time in forever.

A voting integrity bill passed the legislature with ease, only to be vetoed by the new dem governor. So the voting fraud that likely cost GWB wisconsin in 2000 is still around.

Like I said, republicans have a way of shooting themselves in the foot when it matters.

Interesting take - myself I have been against all easy-voting measures fearing they allow the dems what they want - the ability to vote early and early and early and early and did I say often? But your confidence on the early voting and linking it for the working stiffs (more and more of the working stiffs are pubs) has some merit and interesting argument...

EXACTLY!!!

As an Election Judge from Texas, I agree completely. Also, since Early Voters are marked in the Signature Book prior to election day, you can see if someone is trying to vote again.

However, that does not highlight someone voting in someone else's name or someone who might have been able to get a Govt-issued photo ID in a made up name or someone voting in two different states (I'm not sure about different counties).

I have noticed on this year's rolls that a lot of duplicate names have been removed. In my several years as an Election Judge, I do not ever recall seeing any duplicate names in my precinct ever voting more than once in the same election.

I have been told recently (and have heard similar stories in the past), that the RATS go around to nursing homes and minority areas and get people to SIGN a BLANK APPLICATION to receive a Mail-In Ballot (i.e. where the voter doesn't have to be SEEN by an election official prior to voting). That way, the SIGNATURES MATCH, but they can put whatever ADDRESS they want, so that the actual ballot comes to the fraudulent voter, not the "real" voter.

I was told that a local minority Republican candidate's mother was approached by such methods. The RATS kind of picked on the wrong person!
