Michael Garone, 52, was released from jail Tuesday on his on recognizance.

Garone and others were holding anti-Kerry signs at a street corner Monday in Vero Beach when Trevor Pickering drove up and said "Go Kerry," according to an arrest affidavit.

Pickering argued with the anti-Kerry protesters, and then got out of the car and knocked a sign out of the hands of one of the demonstrators.

On the other hand, don't point a gun at something you don't intend to shoot. It just give the gun controllers more ammunition.

Since when does the victim of aggression get arrested only on the say-so of the aggressor?

This sounds like another made up story. Something doesn't smell right.

Hmm, I can see why they charged the gun wielder, obviously, but why not the Kerry thug too?

Knocking a sign out of someone's hand isn't a serious assault but it shouldn't be laughed off either...

Sounds like Pickering assaulted Garone. Self defense is a good policy except when you are dealing with a Brownshirt For Kerry in South Florida I guess.

Wonder if the gun was never drawn from it's holster and the demonRAT just spotted it when shoving the anti-kerry protester.

That's the only problem I see with carrying. Someone can falsely claim you pointed the gun at him and threatened him.

Best make sure it is well concealed (but still easy to get to, if needed.

If the Kerry thug was still behind the wheel when he did that, he had in his hands a real heavy deadly weapon.

A gun is acceptable self defense to a car. We are getting only one side of a he said he said story.

Erroneous excerpt: "That's when (Garone) walked up to my car and stuck a gun to my head," Pickering said. "I said 'I'm sorry' and 'Please don't kill me,' drove away and called the cops."

Should Read: "That's when (Garone) walked up to my car and stuck a gun to my head," Pickering said. "I said 'I'm sorry' and 'Please don't kill me,' drove away IN A POOL OF MY OWN URINE and called the cops."

In the current political climate of violence from the left, such precautions are not out of line:

Body Found Near Delano (May be girl who went missing while doing a get out the vote for repubs) (it was, details in thread)

Of note:

1) This is ABC's national website covering it, not Newsmax. ABC couldn't dirty its hands with union thugs in Orlando on film, but God forbid it miss out on a your-word-vs.-mine where the Republican gets arrested and (gasp!) carries a gun.

2) Republicans should note that the best stick to hold up signs with is in fact a baseball bat.

3) This was an inappropriate use of the gun, timing wise, if the article is accurate. Garone knows that. He was dumb in doing this. He should plea for what he can get--after the election, of course.

4) The next time any Republican sees this Rat ass, all that is necessary is to comment on his fancypants name. "Trevor Pickering." What a nancyboy.

Really, At the very least, they should have both been in jail. Some would agrue about a license for the pistol, but as far as I'm concerned that's BS too!) The Brownshirt should have minded his own business. Did anuone call the GOP Hotline ?? If that woulld help.

If the Kerry puke indeed had a gun stuck to his head, I say well done. I just want to get it on, a fight to submission or death which ever they prefer. Let's just set a date and meet in Central Park. Kerry supporters versus Bush supporters and let's be done with these traitors once and for all.

Axe handles (sans axe, of course) are particularly useful and quite comfortable, too, I might add.

Well, I broke the shovel handle...but got a second use out of it!
Economizing and all that!
Plus its longer than a axe handle, so I should get more 'wind up'!
