KC, KS is not a bad place, overall.

Just like in any city, it has it's bad spots.

BBQ is good, prices are reasonable, and has most of the amenities you would expect. Tax rates are generally better in KS than they are in MO.

The midwest is a nice place to live. Where will you be moving from?

In the final analysis, the move will depend on how serious this relationship is vs the costs of the move and what you will be giving up by moving. Choose wisely.
