You will never be able to listen to AM radio again if you live anywhere near this.

If that becomes the "standard" for home broadband, I'll just go out and lease my own T1 line.

Anything that invites a price war is fine by me. My cable ISP is about $30/month now.

BPL has got to be one of the worst schemes to come down the pike in a long time. In testing it has been shown to interfere with amateur radio communications, local safety such as fire police, and civil aircraft communications.
Many utilities who were testing scrapped their test due to interference that the proponents claimed would not be there.
BPL is bad bad idea where ever it has been tried.

Thanks for the links. If this screws up talk radio, that would be bad news.

This is really best for those in rural areas as Starlit is too expensive and suffers from high latency.

Then the RATS will DEMAND it gets used in all Republican areas.
Bye bye Rushbo?

AM radio might come by cable this way, too, just a HUGE attenuator.

What about a shielded cable?
How does that effect the signal emmisions that interfere with outside radio signals?
What if the power through the cable is low? Does it have to be high to make it through the line, thus giving off interference that plays with radio?
Can the frequency be changed to not be similar to emergency signals or present AM wavelengths and frequencies?

If this screws up talk radio, that would be bad news. That would be clever.
The 'October surprize' intended for Rush and Sean? But didn't the article say that AM frequencies would not be affected?

I have 15 Mb/s down and 2 Mb/s up currently with Verizon FIOS fiber optic service. How much does that cost you a month? And is that with dynamic or static IPs? If static, how many?

Unless it's through my septic, I'm not impressed.. It can't be through the septic. CBS, ABC, NBC, and CNN have exclusive rights.
