I was trying to analyze exactly HOW this is going to impact things over there, and the best I can come up with is, "It's gonna be INTERESTING."
Yeah...the PLO and the rest must be pretty concerned about this! I'm willing to bet that as soon as Arafat breathes his last, and the doctors all clear out that the IDF/IAF goes after all his underlings/associates.
I think once he's gone, a fair number of his cohorts with "political aspirations" either go into hiding, or leave the country.
We all know that somehow, somebody will blame this on Israel though....which means we'll never get to find out what really killed the old toad...since they're going to accuse Israel of poisoning him.

The PLO will finish themselves off and whatever organization remains will negotiate with Israel for peace.
Arafat is the main stumbling block to a peace plan, there are several layers of leadership that are tired of the death and fighting and will find a way to get to the table to talk.
What happens after that, is anybodys guess.
