I have a feeling they will be admitting it whether they like it or not!
By his lights, Putin was not doing anything wrong. Just like France had some $42 Billion in forward oil related contracts with Saddam, Russia had about $27 B.
As a part of the deal to get them (mostly oilfield development and operation contracts) they had to play along with Saddam till the UN gave up on sanctions.
Now that Saddam is no more, and Russia is also a target of the Islamo-Wackos, Putin has common cause with us. (Just like we made lovie-dovie with the Russians in WWII so they would keep Hitler busy killing them on the Eastern front till we got our stuff together on the West.)
Putin and Musharif have figured it out, but Chirac is even dumber than and almost as arrogant as De Gaulle was. Truth is that none of Kerry's so-called potential allies either would or could if they wanted, be much use.
Saddam got most of his big equipment, most of his portable money, etc off to Syria when he figured we were serious.
I wouldn't get too sore at Putin. Russia is a better ally than France or Germany (or for that matter France AND Germany) in this fight.
In a foxhole in a foriegn country, I would rather have some kid from the wrong side of the track who grew up in a bad neighborhod than some French Puff Poodle post-modern diplomat.
With the Russians, remember the story about their diplomatic convoy being attacked on its way to Syria during the war...
The Russian convoy that was shot at was mainly from the embassy, and occurred on 4/7/03. The explosives were probably extracted between January and early March

Today on Rush Limbaugh, Rush said that if he could, he would bet any of his listeners $1.00 that you could take the Kerry/Edwards name off of the ticket and put in a skunk and you would still have the same amount voting against Bush because this whole election is about getting rid of Bush. Sooooo, it seems you could get Putin to go on national TV and admit to taking the WMDs out just ahead of the troops and they would still vote out Bush!!!!
