The reasons why Kerry is doing badly in New Jersey is partly not his own doing but his party's. New Jersey has the most corrupt state government in the entire Union. The Democrats are in control of everything - and as could be expected - everything is a mess. Governor McGreevey named his gay lover to the position of "Homeland Security Advisor", the man wasn't even a U.S. Citizen, nor could he even get the clearance needed to attend Federal security briefings. And this is happening in the second most impacted state following 9/11. BUT weren't those "boys nights out" fun...

Boy if that doesn't make you think of Longshanks son and his "High Counsel, who was trained in all the arts of war and military tactics", who Longshanks threw out the window in Braveheart.

Funny!

I have been like a yo-yo for a month. First I'm elated; then I'm down. I become very optomistic hearing about such things believed too impossible to be true such as winning New Jersey but then I have to listen to MSM talking about 'dead even.' I read about the elections at night, I read it on FR, I read it in the newspapers, and I am spending far too much time at work reading about it.

It shouldn't even BE this close. Dems just hate W and the attitude remains, 'anyone but Bush', especially in this state (WV).

Now I'm reading about the Dem teams of 10,000 lawyers ready to be dispatched to contest elections wherever needed throughout the country.

We have 'no excuse' early voting here on Saturday: Do I go, or do I fear my ballot will be tampered with?, and wait until Tuesday? Do terrorists 'hit' on Tuesday, thus preventing my voting?

I just want the next 6 days to pass QUICKLY!

I might run for president just to make frequent campaign appearances in Hawaii...

I second that emotion. Best idea I have heard in a long while.

I think New Jersey closes the polls at something like 8pm est. I say this because I always recall it being one of the first states to report. I may be wrong and it is 9pm, but hey let's hear it from someone who knows. If this news of Bush taking NJ comes in at 8pm, we will have a big LOL all night long. It has been difficult to take all this coverage parotting this same notion from the same angle. they just multiplyeach other without a dime's worth of differnece. FOX seems afraid to differ with the MSM anymore. They have really become pussycats.

"And this will add to the pile of horse pucky that the major news networks know what they're doing by calling the election close!"

That would be a sweet side benefit if the president wins in a landslide that buries the media. I like it.

Kerry's numbers are headed for an historic crash. This final bit of campaign-coordinated news with the NY Times is the last Al Qa'Qaa out of Kerry's mouth that America will put up with. This is brazen anti-American propoganda and it has no place in Presidential politics.

I dont know about America, but it surely is the last thing I can take from that jackass. I simply could not put up with hearing himfor 4 years.

I sure hope America feels the same way.

I seem to recall discussion of prohibiting networks from revealing numbers till the west coast polls close. Is that still on the table?

"For those of us chewing our fingernails down to the nub..."

Speaking of chewing fingernails, I've been so wound up and geeked about the election and news that I can't stop picking my cuticles. My fingers are all red and ouchy! Tuesday night couldn't come soon enough for me. I pray that Bush wins by HUGE margins.

And this is happening in the second most impacted state following 9/11.

There's something unfortunate about this phrase when talking about gay lovers - citizen or no citizen.

I can promise you that New Jersey will not be declared for President Bush early on Tuesday evening. If the race in New Jersey is close for President Bush, the media will delay calling the state for as long as possible. I can't imagine that President Bush will win New Jersey by a large margin, so I can see the media refusing to call New Jersey until every vote is counted and controversies are resolved. I wouldn't expect a call on New Jersey until five or six o'clock Wednesday morning. The same thing will be true in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida. I don't think the media will be calling any of these states for President Bush until sometime during the morning rush hour on Wednesday.

I dunno... I've heard that the state of Rod Island could be a serious contender for the title. Then again, I have not lived in RI, but I did live in NJ years ago.

Depending on the turnout (wink, wink), I am beginning to believe that Kerry will conclude one of the most miserable campaigns for President ever by losing in states he "shouldn't" be early on election night.

Today a new poll showed again that President Bush is dead even with Senator Kerry in New Jersey. This is unbelievable. Al Gore walked away with New Jersey early in the evening in 2000. But if Kerry loses it my prediction is for Bush to almost run the board.

The Democratic corruption has left a bad taste, but voters in New Jersey are also realizing that they don't have any state-wide elected officials that they really had a voice in putting there. McGreevey is stepping aside and an "appointed" Governor will run the state for 18 months. One of the Senators bought his way to the Senate. The other was a bait and switch for New Jersey voters.

Look for a voter's rebellion...sick of the corruption, New Jersey voters will choose President Bush as their choice, even some out of protest.

With the 16 electoral votes that go with it, New Jersey will significantly change the electoral college count. And if it goes BUSH early on Tuesday night - a state that BUSH spent almost no money in, Kerry can kiss the White House goodbye.

When you add to the New Jersey equation the fact that Kerry is trailing in Hawaii - which was an 18% win for Gore in 2000 - those combined 20 electoral votes are as big as Ohio. (Another state that President Bush is leading in...)

I seem to recall discussion of prohibiting networks from revealing numbers till the west coast polls close. Is that still on the table? The only reason they'd do this is because they KNOW Kerry is losing big time and the don't want to depress the polls out west (helping republicans gain senate & house seats).

The dems have run beautiful Hawaii into an economic dumpster. They know they need a republican to turn it around for them.

I have a good freind that lives in Hawaii. He tells me that a lot of the residents are drug addled (adult) children of wealth whose parents sent them to Hawaii to get rid of them. His descriptions of some of the non-tourist places sounds like the third world, if that advanced.

I don't remember hearing that. I do remember that the networks promised not to call Florida this time until after the polls close in the panhandle, an hour after the rest of the state. I think that's 8 PM, Eastern.
