I looked to see if anyone else had posted this - I apologize if I missed it - about 8 minutes into ABC World News Tonight, Martha Radditz ended up her report on the missing explosives with words to this effect:
Peter, late breaking information from IAEA is that when they last inspected the Al QAQaa facility in (January? March?) 2003, there were not 180 tons of high explosives, but only 3 tons.
She did qualify that I think by stating a particular type of high explosive - either MX(?) or the other of the two types, but whatever it was, sounds like there might have been a lot less left to be "missing" at any time the US forces could have been there.
Pass this to Drudge. I'm sure he can get a transcript.
It is not credible that Senator Kerry "just happened" to put together his latest ad within 24 hours of the story breaking at NYT. I believe he knew the story was coming, had the ad made and recorded, and just waited to release it until after the story broke.
Reporting what ABC said is not being "set up" - it's just stating what they reported, and as long as one qualifies any claim that "ABC reported that ...." it may be ABC being set up, but not someone stating what was reported.
I did, about 30 minutes ago. But, If we all do it, he will look at it.
hadrian....if i buy you TIVO will you use it?????
someone call Martha at the pentagon.. ask her to fax over that stack of papers..
i thought it was kinda weird she was holding that stack of papers actually.. trying to make it look genuine?
who knows?
They can't have it both ways: either he had WMD or he didn't.
I'm sure most of you noticed that when Brokenjaw at NBC stated that they did not report what Bush was saying they reported, Tommie didn't bother to mention that they also did not report what Kerry was saying they reported. Complete CRAP!
Hey, Tommie, learn English!

How in the hell do you "misplace" explosives??? Is the IAEA that stupid??? Yet Kerry wants these shrubs to run our national security???? Good grief...
Where can we get a transcript?
I'm pretty "low tech" - don't even have cable (may be in part why I was watching ABC) - so a TIVO is beyond me. Watching ABC once or twice a week is informative - the old phrase "know your enemy" comes to mind. I thought Martha Raddatz was actually OK on PBS - but question that now that she's on ABC.
George W mentions that... not specifically WMD's but all those dangerous weapons.. it makes a great point for W. Kerry's beating BigTMac about the head and shoulders right about now...
The NYT is the sKerry Campaign official publication.
And that is not sarcasm.
On Fox News Special Report with Brit Hume, a reporter was going through the time-line and I'm sure that I heard him say that when the IAEA last went to alQaQaa, they didn't check all of the bunkers. Brit didn't pick up on it, but I got the impression that we need to consider that the IAEA doesn't know what in the hell they're talking about.
Unfortunately, MSM isn't interested in undercutting Kerry as he rants about the "380 tons of explosives".
Reminds me of a funny story. My Battalion XO lost his protective mask and his story was that he went to sleep using it as a pillow and while he slept someone stole it out from underneath his head. They actually wrote it off!
Yes, but there are still legions of evil orcs roaming the countryside.
I agree with your counterpoint about "SETUP", unless it's a team of time-staggered postings knowing what must be done for enough of us to run with it. You know -- conspiracy.
That said, I have no problems with this as long as it's stays within the Freep thread, UNTIL VERIFIED.
Well if this thing pans out, it is a big big deal, that the IAEA miscalculated the remaining HX or RDX amount by half.....shows the whole world the story is bogus
I thought it was ALL missing... months before troops got there.
