Los Angeles--Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of A New Destiny, and organizer of The Black List Campaign, today accused rap mogul Sean P. Diddy Combs and his nonprofit organization Citizen Change of using a scare campaign to get blacks to vote against President George W. Bush on November 2nd. Citizen Change, with its Vote or Die slogan, is conducting a three-day get-out-the-vote initiative geared towards minority voters in swing states. The tour began Tuesday, and will cover Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Miami.
Rev. Peterson said: P. Diddy Combs and his Citizen Change group are a disgrace. Their Vote or Die campaign is an effort to scare and manipulate blacks into voting for John Kerry. Most of these so-called disenfranchised people dont care about the issues. All they know is what theyve been told: Bush is evil. Bush hates blacks. Hes [Bush] going to bring back the draftand you [blacks] have to vote or youll die!
Combs started Citizen Change earlier this year saying he wanted to register thousands of minority voters who arent being heard by politicians. The group claims to be nonpartisan, but in February of 2004, AllHipHop.com reported that P. Diddy wants American voters to turn out in full force this year and remove president George W. Bush from the oval office. According to the report, Diddy said: "[We gotta] get Bush's a** up out that office "
Rev. Peterson added: If all Combs wants to do is register voters, then why the emphasis on the swing states? This is why I started The Black List Campaignto expose the lies of Hollywoods most anti-American black entertainers; and P. Diddy is on that list. This election is very important, please dont let P. Diddy or Jesse Jackson tell you how to vote.

Way to go Rev. Peterson!
I wonder if the Bush twins will still party with P. Diddy? He's an untalented loser.
If I were black I'd be insulted by P Diddy and his type. Don't they think black people are smart enough to think for themselves? I KNOW they are.
LOL! I saw his interview with Greta as well. All he talked about was some kind of "urban revolution." Was it just me or was the whole interview him repeating the same answers over and ?
I don't care who or how or when or where or for whom people get registered to vote. It is a good thing to have more people in a society willing and able to vote.
I agree it is a great thing that more people are voting (finally!) but it is irresponsible to go aaround registering people to vote because Puff Daddy wants "to get Bush's @$$ up out of there." What about educating people about the issues?
I disagree with PD's reason to register, but it's no more irresponsible than me encouraging people to register to vote in order to keep Kerry's sorry a** out of the White House.
Into the pit of h*ll
I completely understand. I was just trying to state that the "celebrities" if they want to make a so called "difference," they need to also educate people, instead of relying on their celebrity status to persuade votes.
I know-me too! It just baffles me and the more people listen the more arrogant they become.
