Red Sox have scored in the first inning in all 4 games.

"Even though they're down 3-0, I'm not giving up on my Redbirds. They've won four games in a row several times this season, and the Red Sox proved against the Yankees that a team can come back after losing the first three games of a series. Besides, when you lose a Senate race to a dead man like I did four years ago, you learn it's never over until it's over." http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=caple/041027 |

Perhaps Star is sitting in the bleachers. Was she planning to bring a sign to show on TV?
Something like "Free Republic loves the Sox" would be appropriate. ;)

"He's dead, dude." The "BABE" lives for all times.
I agree, but the Babe HATED THE YANKEES (And LOVED playing for Boston). He was so upset over the trade that he cursed the Sox...
But now he's mellowed, and feels he'd fit right in with these band of idiots!

I like the Cardinals,
But Boston does deserve this drought to end.
So, I've had mixed opinions about the whole thing, the Underdog factor again.

Trailing by only 1 run, I assume we'll see some small ball from the Cards in their half of the inning.

It's tuned in on sKerry's brainwave :)

The Cards will play the prototype National League half-inning: Single. Bunt to second. Steal third. Sac fly. Tie game.

They're going for the long ball. Too hard. Need to make contact and work up the no. of pitches.

I've heard that he disliked the Yankees too or New York, but back then, I don't think, the Yankees were as much of a power in baseball.
THat's what happened when the Babe came, they started their long run of success I believe, 27 championships or whatever that was.
A lot of times, people hate winners but I don't know if the Yankees were that back then.
Not to take away from the Cardinals, even if they even this series up somehow, to me, the great sporting event was the Red Sox Yankees series. In a way, this Cards Sox series is an anti-climax.
