I guess that calling her "controversial" reduces the charge to a misdemeanor.

The media is beneath contempt.

Smarty-fellow. For the record, the newspaper claimed the charge was "attempting to run over controversial Republican congresswoman Katherine Harris," while the actual papers filed by the DA would be phrased differently.
