I would guess that a majority of Republicans would heartily support the repeal of the 17th, and the 16th Amendments.

You'd be right about the 16th, but wrong about the 17th.

Perhaps Jim would be so kind as to run a FReeper poll of how many FReepers support the repeal of the 17th Amendment, as one giant step back towards federalism?

As always, FR is a great microcosm of the GOP universe.
