More than 10,000 foreigners, and people too stupid to check a box on the registration form indicating that they were American citizens,

The local news shows covered this story in a very different manner.

It was not foreigners but mostly African-American voters who did not check the citizen box. These applicants signed under the penalty of perjury that they were US citizens on one page of the application, but forgot to check the US citizen box on another page.

It was presented as a "straining a gnat" situation designed by Republicans to disenfranchise African-American voters.

Never mind the minor fact that these same "unbiased" reporters worked very, very hard in 2000 to disenfranchise the legal military voters (for Bush!) who used the wrong envelopes and didn't get a USPS stamp on their military reply mail envelopes (and other such technicalities!) to have democrat lawyers remove THEIR votes!

Curious how it is always "mostly African-Americans" who have problems correctly filling out the same forms that all voters must fill out.
