I don't like sKerry, and don't want to see him (s)elected, but why has no mention been made of his prostate cancer/surgery? I know if caught early, the prognosis is good, but was his?

why has no mention been made of his prostate cancer/surgery?

Several newspapers ran a story Oct. 3 (apparently hand-delivered to the NY Times by the Kerry campaign) that he was completely cured:

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has been cured of prostate cancer, his doctors have told him, according to a report in the Sunday issue of The New York Times.

Dr. Patrick Walsh, said "The likelihood that he is going to have a significant problem with this cancer is infinitesimally small," reported the New York Times.

During an interview last month and published this Sunday, Kerry, 60, told the Times that "I am cured," and "I am cancer-free, and the percentages of me being cancer-free 10 years from now are about as good as they get."

Two years ago Kerry was diagnosed with prostate cancer, an event that sidelined the normally active Massachusetts Senator. Blood tests performed every 6 months indicated no recurrence of cancer, with the most recent test completed on September 18, by Kerry's personal physician Dr. Gerald J. Doyle. In February of 2003, Kerry had his cancerous prostate gland removed and in March of the same year, Kerry underwent surgery to repair a shoulder injury described as painful. link
